Governor of the capital city and Mayor of Ulaanbaatar E. Bat-Uul initiated the Northeast Asian Mayors’ Forum and the first Forum was successfully held on August 18-19, 2014, in Ulaanbaatar under the theme of “Sustainable and Inclusive Cities”.
Over 30 cities of 6 countries invited to the Forum and around 120 representatives of 21 cities participated including Niigata from Japan, Moscow, Irkutsk, Yakutsk and Vladivostok from Russia, Beijing, Hohhot, Shenyang, Tianjin and Hailaar from China, Pyeongchang from South Korea and Pyongyang, Rason, Hamhung and Wonsan from North Korea.
Cities discussed the challenges they’re facing such as urbanization, urban governance, environmental management and green growth and shared their experiences and achievements. A total of 4 main sessions were held.
