THE FIRST NORTHEAST ASIAN MAYORS’ FORUM

The Northeast Asian Mayors’ Forum (NEAMF) convened in Ulaanbaatar, capital city of Mongolia, on 18-19 August 2014 to discuss the issue of “Sustainable and Inclusive Cities” with the initiative of the Ulaanbaatar City Government with the support of the Asia Foundation. This year’s forum saw a total number of 120 delegates including the city mayors and officials from 22 cities from 6 different countries, the policy makers from Mongolian government offices, and local administrations as well as the embassies and international organizations in Ulaanbaatar city. The participants exchanged views and experiences of cities in the Northeast Asia region on the urban issues such as city governance, environmental, and green development. The forum had four main sessions with 7 presentations from the participant cities and 8 presentations from the international organizations.
